Colors That Photograph Beautifully in Koh Samui
Natural and soft tones always work best — beige, cream, white, sand, light blue, olive and earthy shades. These colors reflect Koh Samui's warm light beautifully and create soft, harmonious images that feel natural and timeless

Material matters: Choose natural fabrics like linen, silk, and light cotton — they breathe well and look premium on camera. Avoid heavy synthetics, as they show sweat marks easily in Koh Samui’s humidity.

White and black are classic choices — clean, elegant and always work well for individual and couple sessions

For jungle and waterfall locations, deeper tones work beautifully too — rich green, terracotta, deep blue and even red create a striking contrast with the tropical greenery
What to Avoid
Bright neon colors, large logos and sporty clothing tend to distract from the atmosphere and pull attention away from you

On the beach — especially at sunset or sunrise — avoid bright red and very saturated colors, as they compete with the soft warm light rather than complement it

One exception: in jungle and waterfall settings, bold colors like red or orange can look stunning against the greenery — so it depends on where we're shooting

Good Outfit Examples for Photoshoots in Koh Samui
Coordinating Outfits for Couples and Families
You don't need to wear identical outfits — but choosing a coordinated color palette makes a big difference. Aim for similar tones and styles rather than matching pieces exactly

For families, soft neutral tones with one or two accent colors work beautifully — everyone looks cohesive without looking like a uniform

If you're not sure how to coordinate — send me photos of what you're planning to wear and I'll give you honest feedback
Hair and Makeup for Your Photoshoot
Your outfit is just one part of the look — hair and makeup matter just as much, especially for individual and couple sessions

I work with a talented local stylist in Koh Samui who specializes in natural, photogenic looks — the kind that look beautiful on camera without feeling overdone

If you'd like a recommendation or want to book hair and makeup for your session, just let me know when you reach out — I'm happy to connect you
How to Prepare for Your Photoshoot
A few simple things can make a big difference in how your photos turn out

Avoid sunbathing on the day of your photoshoot — sunburned or red skin is difficult to retouch naturally and can affect the overall look of your images. If you've been in the sun, allow your skin time to settle — ideally schedule your session for the next day. Please note that correction of sunburn or significant skin redness is considered detailed retouching

Stay hydrated and get enough sleep the night before — it shows in your skin and eyes more than you'd think
How Light Affects What You Wear
Koh Samui's golden hour light — roughly 30–60 minutes before sunset — is the most flattering and works beautifully with light natural tones

Bright midday light is harsher and calls for even softer, more neutral colors to avoid overexposure

Morning sunrise light is soft and cool — works well with whites, creams and light pastels

Jungle and waterfall locations have a completely different quality of light — diffused and green-tinted — which is why earthy and deeper tones often look better there than pale pastels
